What is polyethylene ?


Polyethylene (PE) plastic refers to a versatile thermoplastic polymer made from ethylene monomers. Formed by the polymerization of multiple ethylene (C₂H₄) units into polyethylene (C₂H₄)ₙ, its simple structure, composed mainly of carbon and hydrogen atoms, gives it properties such as good flexibility and light density.


PE plastics can be classified into different density types depending on the arrangement of molecular chains and the degree of crystallinity. The two most common types are high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and low-density polyethylene (LDPE). HDPE has higher density and hardness, while LDPE has lower density and better flexibility.

What is Nylon ?

Nylon is a family of synthetic polymers known as polyamides. It is a versatile thermoplastic material recognized for its high strength, durability, and abrasion resistance. It was first developed by DuPont in the 1930s.


The properties of nylon can be tailored to meet specific requirements because its polyamide molecular structure is designable and adjustable. Nylon can be manufactured into fibers, sheets, films, and molded parts, making it suitable for a wide range of applications.

Nylon is widely used in the textile industry for producing fabrics and fibers for clothing, upholstery, and carpets.


Due to differences in molecular structure, PA6 is suitable for medium- and low-pressure tubing in automotive and industrial applications, while PA12 is more suitable for compressed air tubing, chemical pipelines, and similar uses.
